Penang by night

I have been up the Penang Hill a couple of times but never after light. It is a stunning evening view by day but I saw a few pictures of lit Penang taken by night and I was awestruck. I recently bought a tripod. Armed thus I reached Penang Hill at 6:30pm. It started growing dark by 7pm and by 7:30pm conditions were ideal to set up the tripod and start shooting.

These are my first attempts with the tripod. I plan to go back up again. Till then I hope you enjoy these.

Day 30: Self Portrait

S was in NY for a month mid 2010. I took myself to Bombay as I could not get a visa in time to travel with him. Early mornings and late evenings were reserved for chatting with S over Skype. It was during one such sessions that I took this picture using my webcam, coloured it up bit and sent it to S for a few laughs.

Day 24: Gratitude

I battled with this theme. I had a few ideas in mind but none expressed gratitude well. But then I suppose it is a matter of perspective. I think this does the job beautifully. I took this picture in Wellington. The bee in the frame is entirely by chance. It was hovering around but I never imagined it would be captured thus.

Day 22: Clothing and Day 23: In Your Closet

I held off on these because I was not quite sure I could post different pictures. My closet does not contain skeletons of my exes just plain old clothes. But here goes.

Day 22: Clothing

My clothing style changes with season and location. When I was in Bangalore and working I used to wear a lot of kurtas and pants and pullovers. In Penang it has changed. This is a very humid city. So my regular clothing includes pants, skirts, shorts, t-shirts, stoles.

Day 3: In Your Closet

I have two closets. Half of the nicer one (as S wanted a part in it) and all of another one. This is a picture from the cleanest section of the nice one. On the hangers are all my pants and a few of my dresses. The rest of the closet is full of folded clothes divided by type.

We drink a lot of wine and it seemed a shame to throw away the lovely bottles after we were done with the good stuff. I saved a few and finally did something with them. This is my first attempt.

Day 20: Seasonal

I love juicy, crunchy fruits. Among my favourites are watermelons. Seasonal watermelons.
Are pears seasonal? I love them too.

Day 15: Technology

You cannot see it from the picture but we had hooked up our laptop to this humungous TV. We had bought ourselves a wireless mouse and keyboard. We watched downloaded stuff and browsed the internet on this. Though this is not cutting edge technology, it is pretty technologically advanced for me.

We also had a DVD player and a PS3 hooked onto this. All that with a comfortable couch and 2 super sized bean bags in front of the setup... we had our entertainment room.

Day 19: Best Friend

I know I am skipping some serious days between posts, but I was not upto posting since a few days.

I have never really had a best friend. I have had extremely close friends, friends who know deep dark secrets about me and also ones I know I will remain friends with forever. But if I had to single out one person, I would have to say my dad. He is both my dad and my best friend. I just hope my mum does not read this post :)

The only daily routine that I can think of is eating cornflakes for breakfast. I believe I have done this every day for the last 6 months. There are other things too, but cornflakes is a given.

I had nothing new in my house except this bottle of mouthwash.

They ain't pretty, but they certainly are transportation.
We have a car but it goes to office every morning with S. I need to get around.
